Lefty Cycles Donates Bicycles to Sound

Last Friday, two Residential Programs at Sound Community Services co-hosted their 1st Annual Spring BBQ for their residents. They had food, music, games, graffiti art, sidewalk chalk; along with motivational guest speaker, Dylan Howley, from The Lefty Cycles Project, Inc.

Sound Community Services and The Lefty Cycles Project are collaborating together to help our clients and our residents. Founded by Dylan Howley in June 2020, The Lefty Cycles Project, a local nonprofit, mission states, “Our mission is to perpetuate, manifest, deliver and apply Goodness to our Recovering community by delivering bicycles for transportation, exercise, hobby, or sport.”

During the event, Dylan and his team donated six bicycles to our Residential Programs. Dylan, originally from New London and who is in his 15th year of sobriety, shared his story of recovery, and elaborated on the mission of Lefty Cycles to our residents and staff. Gino DeMaio, CEO at Sound Community Services, states, “We are so grateful to be not only the beneficiary of such a wonderful gift, but also to benefit from Dylan’s own personal journey. I have followed his growth over the past few years, and I’m inspired by his courage and generosity.”

Thank you, Dylan, and to your team for your generosity and putting many smiles on the faces of our residents!
