This year, Recovery Week at Sound Community Services was a celebration of the many experiences, opportunities, and people that are part of the recovery journey.
We brought that celebration to life in a variety of ways! We kicked things off with our annual Talent Show at Camp Harkness, bringing together clients and staff from Sound and other community agencies for a day of performances and shared talent.
Throughout the week, Tony from MCCA stopped by to speak with clients and staff about problem gambling and shared his story. Our clients also had the opportunity to set sail aboard the Argia in Mystic and enjoy an afternoon at our Picnic in the Park at Harkness Memorial State Park.
And despite a little interference from Mother Nature, we rounded out the festivities with our annual Jason Hyatt Day kickball tournament!
We also had a Build-Your-Own Bouquet Bar for our staff, giving them a moment to enjoy something for themselves and something beautiful to take home as a thank-you for all they do in support of our clients.

From trying something new to celebrating personal achievements and spending time together, this year’s events were a reminder that recovery is about more than any single milestone. It’s also about the opportunities and experiences along the way.
Thank you to our community partners at Camp Harkness Foundation, MCCA, Enliven Inner Intelligence , Dog Watch Mystic, Argia Mystic Cruises, Velvet Sun Flower Farm, Woodfellas Pizza & Wings, and Robin’s Ice Cream Truck for being part of this year’s celebrations. We appreciate your partnership and the role each of you played in making Recovery Week a success! ![]()
