I genuinely love my job and the team I work with. I originally applied for the Residential Recovery Specialist position because I had just graduated with my bachelor's degree and needed to build experience in the mental health field. I never expected to adore this position as much as I do now. Of course, I have good and bad days, but when a previous resident calls to tell me about their new job or apartment, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. The conversations I have with past and current residents about the what the world can offer them keep me motivated and excited for a new day. I try very hard to keep a positive energy in the program because I believe it can be contagious, even when the residents (or my coworkers) may not want it to be.

When I was promoted to my supervisor position at Rite of Passage Program (ROPP), I was told to take that program and make it my own, and that is exactly what they meant.
