YASBIZ Event at TRCC

YASBIZ from Sound Community Services, INC

The YASBIZ event held at TRCC was a collaborative effort that was hosted by Sound Community Services. This was also a joint collaboration between The Southeastern Mental Health Authority, Community Health Resources, and United Services.

The Sound team consisted of Employment services in collaboration with AXS Center. Emerging adults from the AXS center program provided assistance to make the day successful by supported set up and breaking down of the event, attended workshops and assisted others.

The event was a Teaching Event, where 16 young adults arrived from across CT and facilitated various workshops. Some workshops included were…woodburning, how to grow crystals using Borax, paper flower making, plate decorating, paracord bracelet making, and how to make healthy homemade granola bars, rock painting, jewelry making and seashell painting.

There were a total of 71 emerging adults who attended from across CT. Some agencies that participated were Roses for Autism, Bridges, Ability Beyond, SMHA, Intercommunity, CHR, United Services, Continuum of Care and Capital Region, to name a few.
