celebrating the accomplishments of Nate Ferrence

Congratulations to our Director of Facilities, Nathan Ferrance, on his promotion to the rank of Major in the Connecticut Army National Guard! Nate has been a member of the Connecticut Army National Guard for almost 14 years where he has served as an Infantry officer and will soon be taking charge of the state’s Officer Candidate Program. Nate is pictured here with his family who took part in the promotion ceremony. When asked about the promotion he stated, “it’s a great opportunity for me and my family. I am incredibly optimistic about this next phase in my military career and look forward to being in charge of shaping the future leaders of the National Guard.”

Most recently Nate was deployed in support of COVID-19 operations, to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and served as the Operations Officer for a joint task force during the 60th Presidential Inauguration. He is currently assigned to Joint Force Headquarters within the state where his role is to teach and mentor new company commanders so they are better prepared for the responsibilities of their position.

“I am so grateful for the culture and people I work with here at Sound. The flexibility, understanding, and unwavering support of my dual mission as a citizen-soldier has made an often difficult transition easier than I could’ve imagined. That is why this year I nominated the Chief Team of SCSI to be recognized by the Army for their support. I hope you are selected so we can all see photos of you in the Chinook (army helicopter),” Nate responded when asked about working for SCSI and the Army.
