Cassie Rice, Senior Director of Clinical Services

Cassie Rice, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, graduated from University of New Haven with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, then studied at Quinnipiac University to obtain her Master of Social Work degree. She is currently the Senior Director of Clinical Services at Sound Community Services. However, she started her journey with Sound Community Services in 2014 as an outpatient clinic intern. From there, Cassie has sat in many different positions at Sound Community Services including but not limited to; outpatient clinician, IOP clinician, and intake coordinator. Cassie currently sits on the CORE values committee, something she shares she is very passionate about. “The CORE values are true to who we are as an agency and to the culture that has been created at Sound.” Cassie shared her to day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring premier quality of care is being provided to clientele, staff are healthy and well, policies and procedures are effective and efficient.

Cassie shared another passion of hers is to promote education and awareness about the opioid pandemic as well as all other substance use disorders. Cassie runs a group for family members/partners/friends who are being affected by a loved one struggling with opioid use disorder. She also attends community events to provide educational materials and connect people to the proper services to help combat this issue. “This is a systemic problem that needs to be rectified from health insurance companies down to individual practices.”

 Outside of work you can find Cassie enjoying walks at the Niantic Boardwalk, trying new recipes to cook, and taking care of her two cats and dog.
